Special Seminar

SAFE Pilates for Skeletal Health

Sherri Betz, PT teaching John a Pilates Exercise.

This seminar is intended to educate Pilates instructors, health and exercise professionals on SAFETY and therapeutic intent in Pilates practice. Included in this dynamic, experiential seminar are functional anatomical concepts such as the "Alphabet Soup" of the skeleton and learning how to move from the bones. Meeks Prep for Pilates, Betz Mat Class, a full 1/2 day of guided Apparatus Work, PowerPoint presentations on Osteoporosis and the History of Pilates, a Guided Walking for Better Bones, as well as the chance to network with fellow professionals make this an exciting seminar concept whose time has come. People are flocking to Pilates classes and, with over 1/2 of the nation's population over the age of 50, both men and women, at risk for low bone mass and skeletal fragility, safety in Pilates classes is increasingly important.
